THE FOLLOWING ORGANIZATIONS ARE IN SUPPORT OF GUN SAFETY LAWS FOR THE UNITED STATES.

GIFFORDS.ORG (https://giffords.org/) is the organization started by Gabby Giffords, a former US Representative who survived a 2011 mass shooting and assassination attempt in Tucson, Arizona. GIFFORDS.ORG works to educate and mobilize people against gun violence.

SANDY HOOK PROMISE.ORG (https://www.sandyhookpromise.org/)
“Sandy Hook Promise is a national nonprofit organization founded and led by several family members whose loved ones were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School on December 14, 2012. Based in Newtown, Connecticut, our intent is to honor all victims of gun violence by turning our tragedy into a moment of transformation. By empowering youth to “know the signs” and uniting all people who value the protection of children, we can take meaningful actions in schools, homes, and communities to prevent gun violence and stop the tragic loss of life.” (from their website)

EVERYTOWN.ORG (https://www.everytown.org/)
EVERYTOWN.ORG claims to be the largest gun violence prevention organization in America. They offer “evidence-based solutions” that people all across America can use. (We’d like to see them add banning AR-15 ammunition to their list of preventive measures!)

GUN VIOLENCE ARCHIVE.ORG (https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/)
THE GUN VIOLENCE ARCHIVE is a site that keeps track of gun violence in the United States, using charts and maps, plus updates on gun violence every 72 hours, and more. A good resource for tracking gun violence in this country.

JOHNS HOPKINS CENTER FOR GUN VIOLENCE SOLUTIONS (https://publichealth.jhu.edu/departments/health-policy-and-management/research-and-practice/center-for-gun-violence-solutions)
Formerly the Coalition To Stop Gun Violence, the CSGV is now part of Johns Hopkins. “The Center for Gun Violence Solutions combines the expertise of the country’s most respected gun violence researchers with the skills of the nation’s most experienced gun violence prevention advocates. We develop and apply scientific research to identify a range of innovative gun violence solutions and to advocate for systemic changes. This combination creates a unique opportunity to turn public health research into policy action that reduces all forms of gun violence and saves lives.” (from their website)

BRADY UNITED.ORG (https://www.bradyunited.org/)
THE BRADY HANDGUN BILL was passed in Congress 12 years after Ronald Reagan’s press secretary James Brady was shot and permanently disabled during an assassination attempt on Pres. Reagan. BRADY UNITED offers what they describe as “A COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO PREVENTING GUN VIOLENCE.” (We’d like to see them add banning AR-15 ammunition to their list of preventive measures!)
